Swiss LaserClast Holmium YAG laser system utilizes a 2.1 micrometer wavelength, a wavelength that is easily absorbed by water and tissue. Consequently, only the tissue directly in front of the unit’s ablation tip is affected by the radiation. The unit is compact in size, and weighs approximately 37 kg. 20 watts of power are applied to the tissue to be ablated, and the pulse duration can be adjusted to between 300 and 1500 microseconds. The unit’s largest operating frequency range is 20 Hz, with its largest energy range being 3.5 joules.
